Tropicaliosity
A few years ago some friends introduced me to Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso after learning of my Os Mutantes appreciation. I have no idea how I managed to overlook the two founding fathers of the tropicalia music scene while playing out Mutantes, but whatever. This past March I went by myself and sat in the last row at the tippy top of the balcony in Carnegie Hall to watch Gilberto Gil play a solo acoustic show...my my my...I can now die and go to tropicali heaven.
