The Weird Science Shuffle

Oingo Boingo is no joke.

About a month ago, fellow Walrus-man Michael sent me an mp3. I didn't bother to even read what I was downloading, as I assumed it would be something new and exciting that I just had to hear.

To my dismay, it was "Weird Science" by wacky new-wave group Oingo Boingo from the movie of the same name.Knowing the movie well, I opened up the song in my iTunes and gave it a little chuckle, but didn't take it seriously. Then I quickly shuffled to the next song.

Well, in the preceding weeks, "Weird Science" has grown on me like an 80's funk fungus. My once dismissive chuckle is no more. This song has come up so much during the work week, and now when I hear it, my mood is overwhelmed with hilarity. The air-filled snare drums hits and the mad scientist voice that utters, "shes alive!" makes me suddenly forgive Mike for sending me this stupid gem. I have posted an mp3 and the music video for your enjoyment. Which would you little maniacs like to check out first?

Loosen up and remind yourself that music can have fun-value, even if it's crappy 80's pop. Get yourself in a red sports car and blastthe Weird Science Soundtrack. You'll just appreciate it more.
