The Magic Mushrooms, "Never Let Go" (Rare Garage Nugget!)

Does anyone feel it yet?

The Magic Mushrooms were a phenomenal, but short lived psych band from Philadelphia in 1966. They never made a full album but recorded some singles including their most popular "Its-A-Happening", which has been featured on the Nuggets garage-rock compilation.

"Never Let Go" is a groovy hand-clapper that could go on for days with the right substances. The Magic Mushrooms' sound is punk in attitude, taking the blues and raving it up with reckless abandon.

They were signed to A&M until they figured out the drug reference in the band's name and gave the hippies the boot.
