New Music From NYC's Violens: "Violent Sensation Descending"

New Music From NYC's Violens: "Violent Sensation Descending"

My buddy passed me this cool song from ex-members of Lansing-Dreiden. We both agreed it sounded a hell of a lot like The Lilys, but keep in mind, this is not a bad thing. The Lily's have a great, almost sunny, psychedelic pop sound and a knack for composing highly dynamic song structures. Both very good things in my book.

"Violent Sensation Descending" is like a delectable psychedelic sandwich. The warm harmonies and glowing melodies act as the delicious meats and flavorful condiments. They lay nicely in between the semi-spooky intro and outro, which would be the bread in this case. Wait. Huh? Is he trying to compare music to sandwiches?? Yea, I just realized it's lunchtime. No wonder!

Stream another song over at their MySpace page, while I go get a yummy sandwich.

Oh, and if you are also on your lunch break (or not), check out this funny, animated video (about death) produced by Good Magazine. An instrumental version of the band's song was used as the soundtrack:
