Kleenex: The First Swiss All-Girl Punk Band

Helvetica, The Red Cross and...Punk-Rock? Yes I am in fact describing the neutralist, mini-melting pot that is Switzerland. This is news to me, but Kleenex were the first Swiss all-girl punk rock band, and in my opinion, one of the coolest of all time.

A favorite of John Peel, their early music of the late 70's incorporated all of the elements of punk, with a dose of post-punk attitude. It's New Wave militia music along the lines of Gang of Four and Delta 5. Time to do the zerk!

Get more info on the Kill Rock Stars band page and pick up the Kleenex/Liliput double-disc for cheap here.
